Recortes do português diamantino: um estudo sobre a variação léxica da categoria órgãos genitais-sexuais à luz da geossociolinguística cognitiva

Abstract

Is dedicated in this thesis to present the results of the study carried out on the conceptual onomasiological variation within the domain of sexuality, more specifically, of the female and male sexual organs, from a cognitive-geosociolinguistic perspective (KRISTIANSEN; DIRVEN, 2008; GEERAERTS; KRISTIANSEN; PEIRSMAN, 2010), in Chapada Diamantina, territory of identity belonging to the state of Bahia. 72 sociodialectological surveys were collected in the territory in question, composing a sample stratified according to the geosocial variables Sex/Gender (Male and Female), Age (20-33, 34-48, 50-63 years) and Location (Chapada Norte, Chapada Central and Southern Chapada). Regarding this last variable, there is a clear division in the territory into three points of inquiry that differ in socioeconomic, socio-environmental, sociocultural and socio-historical aspects. The analysis proposed in this thesis follows the assumptions of the geo-linguistic-cognitivist model, using the R platform (R CORE TEAM 2020) for their respective statistical processing. The analysis reports the results of the lexical choices made by speakers of the linguistic community in focus to refer to the female and male genital-sexual organs, whose choices reflect “more prototypical” and “less prototypical” uses, arising from metaphorical and metonymic conceptualizations that demonstrate the way human subjects reason about sex and that lead them to an infinity of x-phemistic (ALLAN; BURRIDGE, 2006; CRESPO-FERNÁNDEZ, 2017) regarding sexual topics, which demonstrates that the sex taboo is ultimately analysis, is not only present in people's minds, but also in language. Furthermore, the results of the analysis allowed us to confirm that the conceptual onomasiological variation would be related to macro-sociological factors such as age, spatial, such as location (a relevant aspect in the emergence of a Cognitive Geossociolinguistics), and conceptual, such as the sex referred to in the concept, important results that contributed and will contribute to the study of the conceptualization and categorization of lexical items associated with the category of human genital-sexual organs.
